Here you can find the true NEAHKAHNIE TREASURE! Neahkahnie's true treasure is the energy of the mountain - the powerful "life-force" it holds and makes available for each of us. Neah-kah-nie means "place of the spirits".
Three hundred feet above the waves on the ocean edge of Neahkahnie Mountain, thirty feet above the ground, surrounded by giant Sitka spruce and Douglas fir. Well out of tsunami zone. Look out through the trees, both south and west to the ocean. Look up from the sleeping loft through a huge skylight past the branches to the night stars.
This is a place to leave the city and urban culture behind - a TV-free zone (video/DVD/wi-fi available). A retreat into the world where the rest of nature speaks loudly. Where eagles circle and sing. You can touch true peace and magic here.
Built by hand, with love, thirty years ago. Rock off of the mountain, cedar from the river. The loft and ceiling are redwood. It is a nest out of which books, articles, and visions of the world we are moving into have hatched and taken wing.
The beach is a fifteen minute walk down the road, and a nice aerobic walk back up. A short drive to Oswald West State Park, the trail up Neahkahnie Mountain, the town of Manzanita, or Nehalem Bay State Park.
The Nest is a place to begin a new journey, to refresh your soul, to find new depth, new growth; to choose new futures within yourself.

Summary: This was our fourth stay at the Eagle's Nest and it never fails to be a wonderful experience. Celebrating New Year's Eve/Day in such a unique environment was special. Seeing the lights of 20 fishing boats out in the ocean at night was spectacular. Walking down to Manzanita and seeing the beach crowded with people taking part in the annual "Polar Plunge" was a fun surprise. We always have new experiences while staying here and will definitely return.

Summary: I can't say enough about our experience at the Eagle's Nest. If you're looking for complete simplicity, unobstructed views of the most beautiful scenery in the country and a feeling of pure peace within and out, this place is a perfect fit. You are engulfed in nature. Host was very responsive and enjoyable to work with. Manzanita is such a quaint little town with friendly and accommodating people. We were planning our next trip before leaving this one. HIGHLY recommend.

Summary: We were there 6 nights. It was a different coastal experience. Our two most favorite vacations are beach and forest camping. We had the best of both. Such beautiful views and peaceful. At first we weren’t sure if we were going to hear the ocean, but yes. And the home was very nice and cozy cabin feeling. Thank you

Summary: It was a rainy weekend but I could have stayed sitting looking at the everchanging ocean forever. Eagles' Nest is a special place, built with mindful attention from the house siting to the colors on the walls to the beautiful wood materials. Perfect for a retreat or an exploration of the area. I look forward to returning.

Summary: Eagle's Nest is by far our favorite place we've ever stayed, and we've stayed in some gems. The view from the living room is sky and sea. We loved sleeping in the loft—there's a huge skylight where you can see a magnificent tree towering above you. We got lucky & there were clear skies and a full moon too. Magic! The wood stove is easy to use (they provided perfectly cut wood) & makes the house so cozy. All the kitchen equipment was complete for making multiple meals. They provided so many thoughtful conveniences—reading lights, kleenex, courtesy fan in the bathroom, books, games, pour over coffee. We appreciated the closeness to the beach and Manzanita. Communicating with Fae was a joy—she was helpful and quick to respond. We can't wait to go back. 20/10 recommend.

Summary: Best views of the ocean!! Great house for the two of us to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Super cozy and prefect. It did rain for the entire stay, but it just made the house even more cozy. Lots of books to choose from and read while overlooking the beach/ocean.
